LSK: Validation of the luminometer linearity

How and where using this product ?

Detection is the key part of any analysis. In ATP measurement, the detection is performed using a luminometer which allows quantifying photons emitted during the reaction. The LB 9509 Upgrade luminometer is equipped with one of the most compact and performant photomultipliers available on the market nowadays. Using Quench-Gone kits, providing results expressed in concentration of ATP instead of RLU, is possible because of the luminometer linearity. Linearity is verified using LSK kit. The verification of the linearity of the ATP concentration in function of the emitted light allows to confirm the ability to deliver accurate results and a reliable calibration. It is recommended to verify the linearity of the instrument with the LSK kit once a year.

What do the results mean?

The LSK kit is used to verify the luminometer linearity and detection range. In order to preserve the quality of the kits, the luminometer linearity has to be checked. The luminometer linearity is verified by the operator with a range of 5 diluted ATP standards.

Application of the LSK kit

The LSK kit contains 5 ATP standards from 0.01, 0.1, 1, 10 to 100 ng ATP/mL. Quantification of the light emitted by these 5 diluted ATP standards added to Luminase generates 5 points. These 5 points linearity proves the good quality of the luminometer calibration.
