more convenience
LuminUltra™ strives to maximize the flexibility and convenience of its test kits for its customers. We accomplish this goal by providing test kits with reagents that are ready-to-use, right out of the box!
Central to the ATP analysis is Luciferase, the enzyme that reacts with ATP to produce light. LuminUltra provides this component within its Luminase reagent. Luminase is stable for months, whereas conventional ATP suppliers supply Luciferase-based reagents that have a useful life of only days following hydration. Because LuminaseT maintains a long useful life, waste is minimized.
In addition, most suppliers of ATP products advocate recording results as Relative Light Units, or RLU's. This is the arbitrary output of a Luminometer, and does not guarantee accuracy of the ATP measurement.
Aside from a variety of potential inaccuracies, measuring and recording only RLU values creates a dependency where the user must continue to use reagents and instruments from the same supplier. Switching to alternative products that may be superior or more cost-effective would be undesirable because the archive of historical data would not be transferable between systems.
To reduce this dependency and to maximize measurement accuracy, LuminUltra developed the UltraCheckT line of ATP standards, which are stable at use concentrations (nanograms per mL) for months, even at room temperature. This ensures that results can be compared with confidence from one time period to another and for one application to another. That is, recording results in terms of actual ATP concentrations instead of RLU's ensures that today's results will be comparable to tomorrow's results, and that the user can switch instrumentation without fear of losing the ability to compare past data.
